Green Turtle Cay

Great 2 days on GTC. We dinghied across the protected harbor into the bigger waves on the way to “the Settlement”. Outboard engine is not inspiring confidence as it has a tendency to slowly lose power and overheat. I broke it open and found the issues, but it’s far too new for these to be there. Gathering squalls and dwindling power in the outboard exactly as we round the exposed rocky point – not cool. Still working on it.

Fun times exploring the real Bahamian town of New Plymouth. Actually a few stores to grab provisions and some historical sites to see. Ice cream cones but sadly the boys couldn’t keep it together to deserve any. Gherty has one on credit. All this amazing marine nature needed a hiccup. We saw “ye olde Gaol” 3 cell jail, a sculpture garden, and the rest of the island by gas powered cart! 2 track stone, sand and mud roads to the extreme north end and everywhere else. Bumping out of our seats, driving on the left side of the “road”, and snorkeling, beach combing and generally goofing off. Right on time. Kids washed off and put in some quality pool time while Mom and Dad had a few Goombay Smash fruity cocktail thingies more or less supervising from the pool bar.

One of us isn’t happy to pose for this shot

That’s more like it ;

No power at the dock tonight since its squally, the Abacos, June and Saturday. Easy night of boat tacos and a movie. Headed to check out Treasure Cay tomorrow …..because it’s called Treasure Cay. Can’t be half bad?!

Stay tuned much love…happy real Father’s Day tomorrow Dads;)

    Ahoy Wallings! Greetings for the mainland. It’s hard to believe how much territory you all have covered already – sounds like you are having a blast. The office and school consists of one big pile of cardboard boxes after another as we prepare to move to our new school next week. Crazy times here. Smooth sailing ahead and I’ll be sure to be checking in periodically. Once school gets back in session, I’m sure your classmates will want to follow your journey as well.

    Best,

    Dr, Walker
